TIME FOR BRUM 🐂

As the 2022 Commonwealth Games prepares to get underway in the Second City, we pay homage to all things Brum with this throwback to yesteryear.

Birmingham City’s 1999/00 home strip, produced by French artisans Le Coq Sportif, pulled off this spectacular effort for a team who’s fanbase are famously ‘often partisan’.

With the world’s attentions now turning to the Midlands, let’s hope for similarly spectacular results in the following 11 days of sporting excellence that are to come.

FC Barcelona 2013/14 Away Shirt.

A sterling effort by Nike here saw the Catalonian flag used in a simple, but effective way, in what proved to be an otherwise disappointing season for the Blaugrana - finishing runners up in La Liga, the Copa del Rey and bowing out at the last-eight stage of the UEFA Champions League.

Germany versus England.

A match that always whets the appetite, regardless of the occasion, the historic rivals do battle in FC Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena tonight - a perfect setting for any fixture between these two nations.

Whilst tonight’s Nations League encounter may not be on the same scale as the memorable last 16 clash at Wembley in last summer’s Euro 2020, the game will no doubt offer a glimpse of what both countries can expect from their respective national teams when the real action gets underway in the winter World Cup.
