Embracing a New Chapter ๐ค
This post is deeply personal chapter of my life, filled with incredible highs and daunting lows. If you're taking the time to read this, thank you from the bottom of my heart. โค๏ธ
For the past decade, my body been fighting against PCOS, Hypothyroidism, pre-diabetes, hirsutism, anxiety, depression, and to add to it the heartbreak of two miscarriages. It's been a struggle, testing my faith, strength, marriage, and friendships in ways I could never have imagined.
All that to say, I've made the decision to undergo gastric sleeve surgery. This decision didnโt come easily. Countless treatments, lifestyle adjustments, medications, all with failure have brought me here. This surgery is my pathway to a healthier, more fulfilling life.
To make a VERY long story short, during my drive to a wedding on May 6th, I pleaded with God for a breakthroughโI needed a sign, I couldn't do this anymore. As I arrived at the venue, I saw a client I hadn't seen in eight months. She, too, battled PCOS, she looked absolutely amazing!
Curiosity got the better of me, and I had to ask what sheโd been doing. She told me, "Ali, so much has happened since I last saw you. I had gastric sleeve surgery." I was so shocked, I dropped everything I was holding. It was so unexpected I just stood there as tears welled up as I explained what I had just prayed moments ago. We were both in disbelief. She generously offered to answer all my questions, and told me her PCOS symptoms had practically vanished. What I didnโt mention above is that I was praying specifically about VSG. This was my sign and a confirmation that this was the direction I knew God was leading me to.
It reaffirmed me with so much hope. I'm ready to face it head-on. I thank my incredible husband, family, friends, and loved ones for their unwavering support. Your encouragement has given me the strength to persevere. To those fighting their battles, you're not alone. Whether it's PCOS, a different health condition, or a personal struggle, Our journeys may be unique, but never loose hope. Join me on this transformative journey. It's going to be one heck of a ride.
XoXo,
Ali
