What an extremely personal message to receive
To my daughters:
I will never be the one who can heal
your broken heart.
I will never be the one who can protect you
from all the danger in the world.
I will never be the one who can walk with
you through your whole life.
I will never be able to answer your every call.
I will never be able to understand all the thoughts in your mind.
I will let you down.
I will disappoint you.
I will say things to you that I will regret.
I will make mistakes.
I will love you with everything I have but that still will not be enough,
but I will do everything in my power to point you to
a Savior who is the only One who could ever be enough.
I will walk every valley with you and walk you to His feet.
What freedom for this mom’s heart to know I won’t
be able to be everything to you,
but I know the One who can be.
