You're invited to Kobo Table Talks, a two-day event celebrating artistry and heritage of the Basotho Blanket, inspired by the ground breaking research of Dr. Shahid Vawda, and his colleagues on Modern Heritage of Africa.

Event Details:
Dates -> 19th and 20th February
Location -> Centre for African Studies. Harry Oppenheimer Institute Building, Engineering Mall Road, Upper Campus, UCT.

▪️Registration Deadline:15th February
▪️Facilitated by Lesley Mofokeng and featurong award-winning designer Thano Makheta
▪️The event will include:
-> engaging table talks on cultural symbolism, identity, and heritage
-> a fashion show on opening night
-> a pop-up boutique showcasing Badotho-inspired designs

Celebrating the beauty of the mother-daughter bond this ! 💐 Reflecting on a recent fashion show, where .official daughter Charlotte stepped in to walk the runway in one of her designs, Kat was reminded of the incredible connection they share as mother-daughter. Despite their differences, fashion brought them closer than ever before, and that moment is one Kat will always cherish. Through the years, they've found ways to connect and support each other, no matter what obstacles came their way.

Mikhile du Plessis designer of creates garments to enhance a woman’s figure and selects fabrics that tell the story. The SS 22/23 collection is called Aikaterini. The collection has a quirky use of elements such as Afro Pop, resort wear, and a sense of romanticism. Each look has a story, and this shows how patterns express our emotions. The emotions create a story of how a girl evolves and how she is exposed to stages in her life that creates a woman, called ‘Aikaterini’ the Goddess.
