Summer is just around the corner. The long, warm days of little ones in nothing but their nappies, bare feet in the garden and afternoons spent in the water.

It's the season I always loved most with my babies. And it's exactly the kind of everyday living we had in mind when we created Milk & Marrow. Beautiful, considered earthy tones. A thoughtfully designed system. Cloth nappies that feel just as at home on a summer afternoon as they do in the everyday rhythm of family life.

And when it's time for a swim, simply remove the insert and use the shell as a swim nappy. No separate swim nappy needed.

Pre-orders for The November Batch are now open, with arrival expected in late November.

But this release marks something even more meaningful for us.

With the support of our investor, this will be our final pre-order batch.

From here, we'll be moving into a new chapter, with stock on hand and orders ready to ship. No more waiting for production. No more planning around the next batch. Just Milk & Marrow, available when you need it.

We studied the world's leading approaches to cloth diapering, examining what worked, where compromises were being made, and how the best ideas could be brought together into one cohesive system.

One of our defining design decisions was to eliminate the need for a synthetic lining between the insert and baby's skin. We wanted a different relationship between the absorbency and the skin. Our inserts snap directly into the shell, placing premium natural-fibre blends against baby's skin without an intervening synthetic layer. This is one of the founding principles of our design.

Botanical Absorbency™ is our approach to natural-fibre absorbency, developed specifically for Milk & Marrow. Premium blends of bamboo and organic cotton, and h**p and organic cotton, bring together the distinctive properties of plant-based fibres in two complementary absorbent inserts.

Our wipeable shell and interchangeable inserts rethink how many diapers a family needs. Designed around a minimalist capsule of approximately eight shells from birth to potty training, our system aims to replace the conventional collection of 18–24 or more diapers with something considerably more streamlined. Less to store, less clutter and fewer shells to buy.

Sustainability should work with real life, not against it. Our modular construction makes reusable diapering more manageable, while our GRS-certified recycled-content shell textiles support the use of recycled materials and help reduce reliance on virgin resources.

Sleek silhouettes, earthy tones and original artwork bring a distinctive, understated aesthetic to an everyday essential. Every detail is considered; nothing is included without purpose.

The result is a system that brings together global inspiration, natural-fibre principles and intelligent construction; designed to make cloth diapering simpler, more considered and beautiful in its own right.

I’m expecting to see lots of little Milk & Marrow beach bums this summer!

One of my favourite things about our shells is just how versatile they are. They’re not just cloth nappies, they’re essentially a waterproof cover-all that can be used in so many different ways.

Use them on their own for swimming, pair them with our organic, natural-fibre inserts featuring our Botanical Absorbency™ concept, lay in conventional inserts, or use them over flats, prefolds and pretty much any absorbent layer you prefer.

They adjust from approximately 3–15 kg, feature our original, exclusive Milk & Marrow prints and have a wipeable interior that makes reusing your shell between changes simple.
