Some people may look at a sash and say, “It’s just a sash.”
But a sash represents so much more than a title. It carries a journey, an embroidered reminder of the courage it took to begin and the person you are becoming along the way.
Whether you are a semi-finalist, finalist or titleholder, the meaning behind that sash remains the same. It represents an opportunity to make an impact, create change, discover your potential and grow into a version of yourself you may not have even known existed.
As I enter a very busy season of preparing my mentees for the pageant stage, I am reminded that the real beauty of pageantry is not simply in the crowning moment, but in everything it takes to get there.
The preparation, the discipline, the uncomfortable moments, the lessons, the friendships and the confidence built along the way.
There are so many people who would love to be where you are, but are simply too afraid to take that first step.
Wear your sash with pride, but more importantly, make sure you grow into the woman who wears it.
One day the sash will come off, but the woman you became while wearing it is yours to keep. 💜
