This quote reminds me why I started Bride-Zilla 16 years ago.

Yes, I design wedding dresses, matric farewell dresses, and alterations... but what I really hope my clients remember is how they felt throughout the journey.

When people see the finished dress, they see the sparkle, the lace, the photographs and the smiles.

What they don't always see are the countless hours behind the scenes.
The late nights spent hand-sewing beads one by one. The sketches that start as an idea on paper. The fabrics sourced from different suppliers to find the perfect match. The fittings where we tweak the smallest detail until it's absolutely perfect.

The messages from excited brides counting down the days. The happy tears when they finally see themselves in their dress.

Every gown that leaves my studio carries a little piece of my heart.

WHO IS CARISHA?

For those who are new here... I thought it was time to introduce myself.

I'm Carisha, the heart behind Bride-Zilla.

Sixteen years ago I wasn't looking to start a business...
I was looking for my own wedding dress.

I visited boutique after boutique, but every fitting left me feeling like I was trying to become someone else. Beautiful dresses... but none of them felt like me.

I remember phoning my fiancé and saying,
"I'm going to start Bride-Zilla."
There was a long pause...
Then he laughed and said,
"Well... do it."

That same evening I listed a few dresses on Bid or Buy, not really knowing what I was doing or what the future held.
The next morning I woke up to more than 20 orders.
That was the moment a dream became a business.

Here's the funny part...
I never studied fashion.
I actually studied Law.

Everything I know about designing dresses has come from passion, determination, thousands of hours of learning, and refusing to settle for "good enough."

Today, after 16 incredible years, I've had the privilege of helping thousands of women feel beautiful on some of the biggest days of their lives.

People often tell me I'm a perfectionist.
They're absolutely right.
Because to me, a wedding dress isn't just fabric and lace.
It's confidence.
It's memories.

It's the dress you'll look back on for the rest of your life.

Whether your dress budget is R2 000 or R20 000, that's absolutely okay. Every client has a different budget, and we genuinely respect that.

Where we struggle is when we're asked to quote on a high-couture designer gown with a budget that doesn't align with the design.

When we ask, "What is your budget?" it's not because we're trying to charge you the maximum you're willing to spend. We ask because it helps us advise you honestly and save everyone valuable time.

Quoting a custom gown involves researching fabrics, sourcing lace and embellishments, calculating materials, planning construction, and costing every detail. This process takes time. When we only discover afterwards that the quote is well beyond the intended budget, it means we could have recommended a more suitable design from the very beginning.

Before requesting a quote, sit down with your parents or whoever is contributing and work out your overall budget for your matric farewell. Consider everything you'll need:

Once you know what you're comfortable spending on your dress, send us:
