Wool and mohair are two very different fibers that come from different animals.

Wool is spun from the fleece of a sheep. The spun yarn you knit with is called WOOL.

Mohair is a shiny fibre that comes from an Angora goat. When spun, the product is mohair YARN.

Quick fact: Synthetic fibres should never be referred to as 'wool' - only yarn from a sheep should be called wool. Everything else, including mohair, is simply called 'yarn'.
