A mum reached out asking if we made blankets, since her daughter had become completely attached to her pink sleep bag and was dragging it around the house like a comfort blanket 💕

We don’t make blankets ourselves, so she joked that she’d probably end up cutting up the sleep bag to make one herself. That’s where we came in — we had an imperfect pink sleep bag set aside, sold it to her at a big discount, and connected her with a local tailor who turned it into four mini comforters.

The result? Four “Baaaa’s” later (one for the car, one for the bedroom, one for the house, and a trusty backup) and one very happy little girl who refuses to let go 🥹

This is actually exactly what inspired our Perfectly Imperfect collection — pieces with the tiniest cosmetic flaws, sold at a fraction of the price, ready for a new life. Whether that’s everyday wear or, in this case, a little girl’s new favourite thing in the world.

Okay, I have a confession 🙈

I actually love packing orders. Like, really love it.
There’s something about seeing our prints all folded up and ready to go that makes me so happy. Some lucky little ones are about to receive these and I just know they’re going to love them 🥹

Is it the most efficient use of my time as a one-woman brand? Probably not. But I hand pack every single order myself, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. It means I can make sure every piece that leaves us is exactly as it should be, and I hope that when you open your Hushabye package, you get even a fraction of the joy I felt packing it 🤲🏻💌

“Tyger Tyger, burning bright, In the forests of the night” 🐅🌴

I loved this poem when I was younger, imagining a Tiger prowling in a jungle with its orange coat standing out in the dark of night. It painted such beautiful imagery for me and I wanted our Tiger print to stand out in the same way, and be a bold and bright print for your kids!

This is what it means to be a local businesses and it always fills my cup when we get orders from potential neighbours, people we pass on our walks, at the mall and so on. What a small world and knowing some little people are wearing our products around the corner fills me with joy 🥰
