For ABRA, a contemporary Emirati restaurant by Chef Sahar Parham Al Awadhi, we developed an identity inspired by the dual meanings of its name. The visual language imagines the journey of the abra through water, carried by the current and moving through time, while drawing on the magical associations of abracadabra. Water, celestial movement and Arabic letterforms became recurring motifs, carried throughout the identity from the logotype to its patterns, objects and motion.

Poetry and visual poems by: Shamma Al Bastaki
Cover and glossary design by: Mobius Design Studio

For House to House: بيت لبيت by Shamma Faisal Al Bastaki, we treated the book as an extension of its oral, material, and archival qualities. Rooted in oral histories surrounding Dubai Creek, the publication draws from recollection, refracted and passed between generations.

The cover’s visual language emerged through carving, stamping, tracing, and layering. Linocut textures, fragmented marks, and hand-worked surfaces were used as structural gestures tied to the book’s themes of memory, transmission, and lived routine. Throughout the publication, the Creek functions as a continuous thread, carrying the rhythms of everyday life across households, neighborhoods, and time. The title incorporates scanned lettering by Shamma’s grandfather.

Designed by Möbius Design Studio for Shamma Faisal Al Bastaki’s debut poetry collection House to House: بيت لبيت, published by ELF Publishing.

Post long overdue! So happy we got to be part of No Stitch Between Us, curated by Zawraq Collective at Contemporary Art Miracles in Qurum Commercial Area, Sultanate of Oman.

We showed a new edition of Crystal No. 6. The title references the smallest bead size, which demands the most labor. Rooted in Freej Al Murar in Dubai, the project reflects on how artisans often disappear behind ornament. Through embroidery, film, and text, it brings the makers back to the center of the story.
