Before you commit, ask:

✓ Retail + wholesale quantities — Can they accommodate small quantities when you’re testing a new design, as well as larger quantities when your brand grows?

✓ Fabric variety — Do they offer enough variety to source fabrics for different collections, seasons and styles?

✓ Bulk pricing — Do they offer pricing that makes sense as your order quantities increase?

✓ Samples & swatches — Can you see, feel and test the actual fabric before committing to production?

✓ Sourcing capabilities — If they don’t have exactly what you need, can they source something specific for your brand?

✓ Customisation & additional services — Can they assist with requirements such as custom printing, pleating or stoning when your designs call for it?

✓ Reliability & communication — Do they understand your timelines, respond clearly and keep you informed about availability and orders?

The ideal supplier should be able to support you when you’re ordering a few metres for sampling and when you’re ready to order hundreds of metres for production.

Because launching a brand is already a lot to manage — your fabric supplier shouldn’t be another limitation.
