What would you say about a pattern for a small leather purse? One that can be worn over a shoulder, across your body, or even around your waist. I love this purse and loved teaching it in a class on leather hand sewing last year. I hope you will love it, too!

I’m currently teaching a block printing unit (CTE Art teacher at White Swan High School) and, admittedly, am quite proud of this block. It’s the first time I’ve done such a detailed lino cut and it turned out more or less as expected. It’s titled “Picnic with Eva”. My friend, Eva, and I used to picnic weekly in the Vondelpark, when I lived in Amsterdam. Those are some of my favorite memories, out of MANY, of our life from 2008-2015.

We had the loveliest evening at the beach with a bonfire yesterday. It was one of those blissful, carefree moments where you kind of feel like you’re floating.

Wearing my dress that I sewed by hand during our long trip in 2019/2020 in a lovely tile print by that I purchase back when travel was a thing at . I’m actually getting ready to head to the states this weekend and will be with my parents (and my daughter) for a couple months!

I’ve been spending less and less time on social media lately, which has been really nice. It’s also been lovely to sew from somebody else’s pattern again! I’m currently making a and really enjoying the process. I’ve made several silly mistakes and had to unpick, but it’s been such a joy. I’m also realizing it’s the first time I’ve ever made a button up.

I can’t remember many details about this fabric, but it’s a rayon. I can’t remember the last time I sewed a rayon. It’s very fiddly, but it feels so nice and I can’t wait for the end result!

Sometimes I like to disappear from social media for a bit. My plate got just a tad too full this past month, so I spent my time working through my list. One of those things was the sew along. I’m happy to say that, even though I didn’t post about it here, I have completed it and the last post will go up this Friday. These are the jeans I made during the sew along.

I’m also wearing a BIJ1 shirt as the Netherlands goes to the poles today. I’m proud to be able to support this small party that stands for radical equality and that has a Saban () in their party list.

This is one of my favorite ways to add some personal flair to my jeans. I chose the sun design this time, but 3 of the designs I created are inspired by the beautiful window designs that I saw all over Vietnam last year.
