The lapel decides how formal a jacket reads before anything else does.

A notch lapel is the everyday default — a small step cut between lapel and collar, right for business suits and odd jackets alike. A peak lapel points upward toward the shoulder, sharpening the whole jacket. It’s standard on a double-breasted, and a mark of something more considered on a single.

Autumn starts with the shoes.

Two new Bontoni styles just arrived — a five-eyelet Oxford with brogue perforation, and a buckle loafer with kiltie fringe. Both handmade in Italy from calfskin, both built for the months ahead.

Each pairs with a matching Bontoni calfskin belt: dark brown for the Oxford, brown for the loafer. Small detail, but it’s the one that pulls a look together.
