Small improvements in the studio! ✨
Up until now I had masking tape stuck on my machines upon which I drew lines to mark the seam allowance of 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5cm. These were to help my students sew nice even seams.
The downside was that I didn’t draw on the numbers, just the lines so we always had to re-measure to make sure we had the right value. Also, over time these tapes started to peel off and removing the sticky residue took a whole day.
In the last class I held, a student recommended washi tape with lines on it and I’m so grateful for this tip!
I ordered a few rolls along with clear measuring tape and attached these to my machines. The red middle line on the washi tape I aligned to the 1.5cm mark because it’s the seam allowance we use the most.
What a small change with a big helpful impact! Today I’m teaching the Introduction to Sewing class and can’t wait for my students to use these!
