Tada !
Welcome ❣️ 🪄
BIO-
I have been designing clothes since I was a child & would change my 'outfit' numerous times throughout the day. Dress ups of course was a favorite.
My whole life I would have dreams (the sleeping ones) of markets and design jewellery & shoes in my sleep.
In waking, with my eyes closed in the sun I would have the most unique beautiful textile designs come to my closed eyelids.
I have a passion for styling / designing / mix & matching different patterns, colours and textures & upcycling garments.
At age 16 I studied Fashion Design/textiles/footwear in Rundle Mall, an Italian dressmaking method SITAM.
I got offered to design for Miss Gladys Symchoon on Rundle Street.
I entered Australian Gown of the year awards age 16 and came in top 30.
In my teen years I had a custom dance costume making business making intricate Latin & Ballroom gowns with Swarovski crystals.
I briefly dabbled in bikini design.
Whilst I was in Switzerland before coming back to study Fashion Design, I was at my friends home eating dinner, and her father said.. "Zabrina, do you know who has sat at this table?.. Stefano & Domenico Gabbana!" They were my favorite designers [for their love of clash].. was this a brush of fate to come?.
A few years later at age 21, I was living in London and decided to randomly apply for my dream job, designing for DSI (Dancesport International.. the worlds top Latin & Ballroom gown costume company).. I got my mum to send over my portfolio.. caught the train down to Surrey DSI headquarters.. I got called in.. the boss said; "do you want to good news or the bad news?!"
"both" I said. He had just hired someone minutes before. He was impressed with my portfolio & I asked him to please remember me shall a position become available. He did, I got the phone call at the airport on my way back to Australia asking me to come in for an interview. I landed back in Australia.
Through out the years I've had a styling page (formerly Lilac Desert) on IG selling and styling Opshop finds & one-off unique Vintage pieces. a favorite style muse Margherita Missoni followed my page.
I come from a family of artists. My mum had her own Fashion knit label in the 80s & my grandmother used to manage Switzerlands top lingere store. I grew up surrounded by textiles.
I have a memory as a girl at a local market, there was a stall and the lady said she was a colour consultant.. something deep within me resonated ⚓️✨️
I have big plans on starting my own fashion & lingere label.
Here I will be selling & styling items to my hearts beat for piecing together an outfit, mix & matching pattern & colour ❣️
And creating 1 off unique upcycled pieces.
