Belinda Zanello’s passion for wearable art led her to study an Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design & Technology at Tafe SA, graduating with a Certificate in Corsetry and her graduate collection, inspired by Marie Antoinette, Opera and Haute Couture wearable art. She then went on to work for the State Opera Company of SA for 2 years in the Costume Department and did Art Finishing too. Since 2010 Bel

inda has worked as a Fashion Stylist on photoshoots and as Costume Support in several music videos shot in Adelaide, most recently Dami Im’s song ‘Gladiator.’ In 2014 Belinda won the ‘Blank Canvas’ design competition at ‘A Night of Fashion at the Gallery’, for her innovative calico pannier gown with graduated honeycomb pleating, 16 hours of sewing, paired with a futuristic top. This year Belinda was chosen to be a Panel Judge at Adelaide's Oz Comic-Con Cosplay Championships. Belinda is inspired to keep working in this industry in Adelaide and looks forward to what the future brings. Belinda enjoys fashion illustration, exploring new mediums, is a fashion/art blogger (http://belindazanello.blogspot.com) and currently works as a stylist/costume designer and makes jewellery, accessories & women’s fashion to sell online, along with fashion illustration prints

I couldn’t bring myself to box her away. 💔🎄🥹✨ Too many hours went into restoring the hoop skirt, resizing the skirt by 4 sizes and then Christmasfying her! This is a 16-year relationship with this gown.🎄🥹✨

She’s on display in my house for now. 🤭 Who needs a Christmas tree! 😆🎄🧚❤️✨

A reminder to myself that the old creative me (pre-motherhood) is still in there and is itching to come out and play when she has a moment. Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever get to see her again, but I know I will. Maybe when my toddler is older, she will want to play too, in her own way. 🥹🫶✨

The Gown Reboot nobody saw coming… ❤️🎄✨
16 years later, this gown still weighs 10kg and has been in SALA, The Royal Show (2nd place Open Costume) and A Night of Fashion at the gallery (1st place Blank Canvas - pannier hoop skirt by me) and now the Xmas pageant!✨

It started out as my TAFE SA graduate collection (1 of 6 designs I made) inspired by Haute Couture & the Baroque/Rococo era ❤️🎄✨

16 years later, this gown still weighs 10kg and has been in SALA, The Royal Show (2nd place Open Costume) and A Night of Fashion at the gallery (1st place Blank Canvas - pannier hoop skirt by me) and now the Xmas pageant!✨

Gonna take a Christmas miracle to make this gown work but I’ve made it this far! See you fairies tomorrow at the Xmas Pageant! 🧚✨

(This gown is 16 years old, made by me for my graduate collection in 2009. It gets brought out of storage for SALA, competitions and the Royal Show and this time, for a Xmas Fairy experience. It weighs around 10kg including the pannier steel cage skirt I made too 🫶🥹🧚✨
