Jasmine's patchwork quilt...
When does a memory blanket resemble a patchwork quilt? When it's been crafted from individual t-shirts brought back from different holiday spots that each rekindle fond family memories; t-shirts bought at events and concerts; and of course hobby t-shirts!
What a task. This large project started with a large bag of t-shirts. The fronts of the selected t-shirts were firstly cut out and given an iron-on interfacing backing to make the t-shirt material less stretchy.
Next came the optimal placement of the variously-sized pieces to eliminate gaps.
The individual pieces were then sewn together to form an interlocking sheet.
Now for some wadding and backing fabric which was firstly pinned, then sewn along each t-shirt's cut-out perimeter.
Finally, the blanket's edges were finished all round with bias binding.
Now that's a worthy memory blanket for Jasmine.
