This feels good to make: natural materials, intuitive shape and colour pairings, made without rushing, inspired by old crafts, with a bag design tested over years. I hope all of that makes it feel good to use too.

A little day off project. Time to explore. Using ideas and techniques from traditional Japanese sashiko and boro, with inspiration from contemporary stitchers such as and . Will this become a brooch or a mending patch or part of a bag? Not sure yet.

Today's experiments in printing words to go on a custom bag. I ordered a set of letter stamps but had to improvise in forming the punctuation. All was going well until I lost the 'e' down the sink 😯

I'm talking slow fashion. In my practice that's taking each step in the making process with care. Selecting or drafting patterns that are designed to be used year after year, not just for a season. Using natural fabrics that are kinder to our planet. Cutting the fabric to make the most of each piece, even when that (often) takes longer, then using the offcuts in increasingly smaller projects. Sewing with attention to detail. Making new pieces as needed rather than in bulk. Offering repairs. It's pretty slow but I think it's worth it. I hope you do too 💚

When I make something good I just want to keep making new iterations, not to have but just to make. That desire has worked well in my line of business! This is my latest pockety tote that's available, with the bonus of two different sides.

I'm now making a new style of tote bag, which from a practical POV is a great not-too-big-not-too-small size, is sturdy and has multiple pockets. From my POV it's a perfect way to combine and show off several beautiful fabrics, here Japanese cottons and a natural linen. You can come in to the North Adelaide shop and grab one ready made or get creative with your own fabric choices and I'll sew it up for you!

Took a cup-filling trip to McLaren Vale today to deliver a couple of Bags of Sunshine (collab with ) to . Go there; it's extremely lovely. Excursion also featured lunch at and the picturesque return via Clarendon with treasures found at . I hope you found something to delight in this Sunday too.

Just managed to grab a quick shot of the vintage collection heading out the door up to the wonderful .arts in the Adelaide Hills. I've made these bags with vintage upholstery fabric and three of them with the contrasting 'wrong' side of the fabric on the other side of the bag. Treat yourself to a visit, and maybe the afterwards 🍩
