As one of Australia’s best-dressed fashion industry contenders, Lucid8 is leading the way within the fashion industry by separating from ‘fast-fashion’ and initiating a movement towards ‘slow fashion’.
Australians buy approximately 27 kg of new clothing and other textiles per year (twice the global average). Mass-produced clothing and ‘fast fashion’ items are often made from synthetic fibres and shed thousands of micro-plastic particles when washed or disposed of, which contributes to landfill and greenhouse gas emissions. Lucid8 is working on combating this by positioning emerging and innovative designers next to customised and vintage street wear as well as eco-friendly lifestyle products, making the concept of sustainable living cool.
