Do you know what humanity oldest known musical instrument is?
If you guessed flute you are correct. The oldest example found is a bone flute carved in the Palaeolithic era - around 60000 years ago. They were originally crafted for hunting our purposes to encourage animals and birds into the area.
We still use bone flutes these days and I have been crafting them for the past year.
This weekend at the Armour and Alchemy fair down at Wirrina Cove I will be hosting workshops for 4 lucky people.
If you are interested in early music and instruments and would like to learn the basics on how these instruments were crafted and have a chance to make your own bone whistle flute, please let me know ASAP.
Numbers are strictly limited and will be capped at 2 per day - workshops will be held at 2pm both days at my stall.
Looking forward to seeing some of you at this event which is looking like it is going to be another fantastic festival here in beautiful if a little cold South Australia.
As always stay amazing and stay safe.

Exciting news. We will be attending the Armour and Alchemy fair in June. More details to come soon. 🖤

I am going to be at the Medieval and Rare Trades Festival this weekend with the Eastway Viking group. I am going to have a selection of my instruments on display with bone flute crafting demonstrations, viking songs and saga stories. I will also instruments for people to try including a horn and drums. Come along, say hello and see how things were crafted 1000 years ago while enjoying what this wonderful fair has to offer. And if it rains... well then its even more authentic. 🖤

What a wonderful event. Thanks to all who attended the Adelaide Medieval Festival and came to say hello.
Big thank you to my team for the work they put in for this event and the assistance they all provided over the two days. Also thank you to the staff and organisers of this new event. It was fabulous seeing so many people and while bumpy and rocky at times I am enjoying my ever expanding venture into the world of Medieval and viking music and sagas.

Looking forward to the next few events when I will be travelling to the Mount Gambier Fantasy Medieval Fair in two weeks time with Necro Nature and Jade's amazing taxidermy wares. After that I will be attending the Medieval and Rare Trades Festival in Gumeracha as a punter so do come up and say hi if you see me wandering around at either of these events.

I will also be looking to host the first of hopefully many of my bone flute crafting courses in June/July once the renovations to my workspace are completed. Thank you to those who have signed our expression of interest forms and I will be in touch asap.
