What is Astigmatism?

Astigmatism is a common eye condition and happens when your eye isn’t perfectly round. Instead of being shaped like a soccer ball, its curved to be more like a rugby ball, which affects how light hits your retina.

The result means you can have blurry or distorted vision, difficulty seeing at night (light glare), fatigue after reading or driving, and can show up on its own or alongside other vision problems.

Regular eye tests are the best way to keep your vision in check and up to date. If you have any concerns or need a check up, be sure to book in with our team for your next appointment.

New glasses? Give your eyes a little time.

It can take a few days for your eyes and brain to adjust to a new prescription.

During that time, it's normal to notice things like:
• Slight dizziness
• Depth perception feeling a little different
• Objects appearing sharper than you're used to
• A feeling that your new glasses "just don't seem right"

Most people adjust within a few days, but if your glasses still don't feel comfortable after a week or two, we'd love to see you.

Sometimes a small adjustment to your frames is all that's needed.

Our team is always happy to help.

Are your headaches coming from your eyes?

Not every headache is related to your vision, but sometimes tired or strained eyes can be part of the picture.

Eye strain, uncorrected vision changes and spending long hours focusing on screens can all contribute to discomfort.

If you've noticed frequent headaches alongside blurred vision, sore eyes or difficulty focusing, it might be time for a comprehensive eye examination.

Looking after your vision could help you feel more comfortable throughout the day.
