One of my favourite things to do is to make head wear for the races, weddings or high teas, all customised to what you have in mind. Please peruse my page for all the millinery pieces I have made. I was teaching sustainability to the students today and we watched this video.. we are teaching about companies paying a living wage, the companies impacts on the environment, economic and social areas in producing their range or items..

Do many of you know about this? Are you taking into account what you spend your money on? Are you wearing that garment only once? Food for thought. Let me know your thoughts

I finally got all my files out of storage.. exactly 9 years they have been in storage and I am so glad I still have them, as they will prove as useful resources for my current job.. it has been fun going through the feedback from lecturers on my work as a student 13 years ago.. isn’t it weird how life goes? I will go through all the subjects next week and chat about them

Working on some feathery goodness today. Taking up a dress with a shaped circle hem, but first to remove all the feathers..

I am still here albeit in a slower smaller capacity.. I am working 4 days a week as a lecturer at Tafe so my capacity to take on large amounts of alteration is not there. If I can help in some way, I most certainly will.. if not I have some fab colleagues that I can recommend.
I have these people listed as my auto message so you will see my recommendations but I will still see your message so if you have a curly question I can still attend.. but please bear with me.

Happy New Year to you all.

I can’t say 2022 was a fantastic year but neither was it awful. It was mid range which I will take.. I also know it was a year that I learnt a lot and took some time to reassess.

Some highlights were :
* mentoring high school students for the Garment show.. working with the youth brings me much joy cos they have such a different perspective and love their views..
* getting a lecturer position at Tafe.. This has been something I never knew I needed but it came at a time I was struggling with where to take my business..
* a quick trip to Queensland to see family after not seeing anyone for 3 years due to the pandemic
* and as always viewing the arts at any chance I can get.. so much inspiration to be had looking at other art projects be it a stage show, exhibition or assisting in shows.. the highlight was Van Gogh live which I enjoyed..

Sadly I had to leave my business family at the for new pastures as my part time position at Tafe meant I wasn’t able to work two jobs.. I moved my space back home and still continue to sew and develop things along side lecturing at
I am forever grateful to Mark and Richard at the business centre for continued support and guidance.. it was a hard year for me but I left with lots of knowledge.

I look forward to what 2023 brings and I feel optimistic about where I am headed now..
Sometimes we have to go through the troughs to enjoy the peaks.. but as I always say, we have to live the vibrant life.

My contract at Tafe has been extended for another six months so I am not taking on any bookings unless you have spoken to me personally. I have a few plans of some other work in the pipeline..

I wish you so much happiness and joy in 2023 and a reminder to do what makes you happy..

Wow it’s been a minute since I was last here.. I just came up for air after the last few months.. it’s been a busy last part of the year.

Lecturing at Tafe has been wonderful but by no means easy. It has been incredibly rewarding.. I still can’t quite believe what I have done in the last few months to get students over the line and how fabulous it has been to experience helping people reach their potential. I feel incredibly blessed to have been asked to lecture.. it has been a whole new way of me using my skills..

I have had my contract renewed for part of next year so let’s see where this adventure takes us.. I can’t wait.
