oportion that ensures each garment she designs and makes fits like a glove. Originally trading from a shop in Bridport St, Albert Park before moving to a studio in Prahran in 2007, Julie employed, and learned from experts in tailoring, corsetry, beading, cutting and
garment construction creating gorgeous, custom fitted clothing that clients loved. With Julie at the helm, the team did a wonderful job and the business was a success. But it was Julie’s desire to get back to what she enjoyed most that led to her going solo and setting up a studio in Richardson St, Albert Park. In her purpose built new space, Julie is happily ‘hands-on’ again, going about what she loves doing most: selecting and working with natural fibres, from silks and laces to cotton and wools; hand making bespoke clothing of the highest quality that brings out the best in her clients. to delight every client. “My workmanship is of the highest quality and I have never let a client

Julie Goodwin Couture is a classic couturier who designs and makes bespoke ladies clothing from her studio in Albert Park, Melbourne. Inspired by classic couturiers such as Balenciaga and Dior and with a love of modern fashion and a passion for quality textiles, Julie creates designs that are one-off classics carefully and lovingly crafted to suit and fit each client’s shape and body image. Trained in Fine Art, Julie’s experience in figure drawing helped her develop a true appreciation of the female form and a skilled eye for proportion that ensures each garment she designs and makes fits like a glove.

In addition to Julie’s made to measure women’s tailored pieces, she also designs and creates bespoke wedding dresses - with an emphasis on ‘structure’, Mother of the Bride outfits, Bridesmaids gowns, engagement dresses and cocktail attire. All clients are invited to meet with her in her custom built studio in Albert Park for an initial briefing and measurements, followed by further appointments for fittings.
