HOLIDAY SEASON CASUAL. WE’RE HIRING.
We’re looking for someone to join The Corner Booth in Annandale as we head into the busiest part of the year.
This is a hands-on retail role in a busy store filled with homewares, fashion, gifts, kids, books and plenty of beautiful new stock arriving all the time.
You’ll be serving customers, answering questions, helping people choose gifts, wrapping purchases, taking deliveries, unpacking boxes, pricing stock, replenishing the floor and keeping the shop looking good while you do it.
You’ll need to be confident talking to customers and interested in products. You also need to be able to keep an eye on several things at once, because retail can mean serving someone at the counter while a delivery arrives and there is stock waiting to be unpacked. Always something to do.
This role is physical too. You need to be comfortable lifting and moving cartons and stock, being on your feet and getting stuck into the day-to-day jobs that keep the store running.
You’ll also be using our computer and retail systems, so you need to be comfortable with basic technology, learning systems quickly and working things out when needed. If you happen to be more computer-savvy than Sally, that will be very well received.
We’re looking for someone reliable, proactive, willing to pitch in and able to see what needs doing without waiting to be asked every time. A good sense of humour is important too. There is plenty of laughing at The Corner Booth, but there is also plenty to get done.
THE DAYS:
We’re initially looking for 2 weekdays a week:
Wednesday + Thursday
OR
Thursday + Friday
Starting ASAP.
There will be more hours available through November and December as Christmas gets closer, with the potential for more work in the new year for the right person.
