When once in a designer lifetime opportunities come knocking you have to fling that door open.
Thanks to the wonderful connections made through the an email arrived in my inbox from Delphine Bellini, CE0 of to visit the Maison in Place Vendome, Paris. I first met Delphine in Las Vegas a few years ago as she shared her remarkable story of how this role evolved for her. Our connection strengthened when I told her my daughter was named Elsa in honour of this strong and creative woman.
So a beautiful morning in design heaven was spent viewing the new collections, the haute Couture room, the stunning dining room which also doubles as staff lunch room.
The level of design detail, creativity and artisan skill required was like nothing I have ever seen. The blowfish dress with the rolled spikes on the shoulders, the peacock dress with thousands of tiny feathers dipped in silver and hand sewn on left me breathless. The button detail, including a ni**le ring and the pierced ear boots show the brilliance and playfulness of .
The resurrection of Schiaparelli has been phenomenal under the very keen eye of Delphine.
