A moment of total transparency and gratefulness for my past and present clients and friends. I've spent the last few months making some big decisions.
SO..... I'm currently in the process of winding up my dressmaking services.
I've contacted all clients who were booked in for alterations in 2022 and will be honouring my made to measure commitments for 2022 as these have already commenced.
Many people will have asked " but why?"....
In 2017 when I started this "hobby", we had just moved here and my design and dressmaking skills are something I've always relied on. So when my kids wanted/ needed to do swimming/ dancing/ netball I jumped at the chance to start a bit of a work at home mum gig.
Fast forward to 2021 and most of my clients are brides and weddings are a HUGE deal. Every dress bag full of fabulousness needs my complete focus and attention to the finest details. I'm working at least 6 days a week and most nights I'm in the studio. Its actually not super glam. Which as it turns out is not great for my mental or physical health. And this poor balance is completely my own fault, because I DO love meeting new clients and helping them to look and feel beautiful. Its been incredibly hard for me to start to say "not available" to people this last few months.
So its time to take a break. I'm very much looking forward to getting regular sleep each night, establish an exercise habit and to spend time with my family where I'm not thinking about how long it is until
I can get back into the studio to get work done.
I'm not sharing this to ask for a pity party, but rather to explain why you may not be able to contact me or why my page might be taking an extended nap in the new year ( I might also be taking an extended nap!)
I'm so grateful for all the support and regular clients I've had for the last 4 1/2 years. Its been my absolute pleasure to meet you and work with you.
You might ask "but what about that beautiful studio space?".... my daughters already have big plans for the many things I will have time to make for them and I am looking forward to playing and creating just for fun.
XX Belinda
P.S. attaching a pic of my "why" because I've welcomed you into my home as much as you have welcomed me into your big events and I've loved every moment!
