💜 MATT “BONES” MEMORY QUILT 💜

This one has so much life and history sewn into it. 🥊

Made for Matt “Bones” Williams, this quilt brings together pieces from so many different parts of his and his family’s story.

There are Muay Thai and fight shorts from years of competing, including pieces belonging to Matt and his wife Lani, along with pieces connected to their little boy.

Then there are some incredibly precious T shirts belonging to Matt’s brother, who has sadly passed away. 💜

Some of the original competitor patches were carefully removed from the clothing, restored and then sewn back into the quilt so they could remain part of the story.

Matt has now retired from professional competition, but combat sports are still a huge part of his life. He runs Bones MMA with Lani, coaches fighters and is also well known for his combat sports commentary.

When you first look at this quilt, you see fight shorts, T shirts, logos and patches.

But when you know what those clothes actually represent, you see something completely different.

Competition. Achievements. Family. A brother. A husband and wife. Their little boy. Loss. Memories. And years of life together. 💜

That’s what I love about making these quilts.

They’re never just clothes.

You know the one 😂

The bag shoved in the back of the cupboard because you can't bring yourself to throw any of it out.

The tiny onesies. The favourite outfit. The shirt they wore ALL the time. The ridiculously cute thing you probably spent too much money on and they wore twice before they grew out of it 😂

So you keep it.

And years later... you're still keeping it.

That's where I come in 💜

A bag or box turns up at my door full of clothes, and I know before I even open it that there's a reason every single one has been kept.

Then my table looks like absolute chaos 😂

They're sorted, cut, stabilised, pinned, moved around about 400 times, sewn together and slowly that pile of little clothes becomes one big quilt.

Same clothes.

Same memories.

They're just not living in a bag in the cupboard anymore.

🌴☀️ LITTLE KEEPSAKE LANE IS OUT OF OFFICE! ☀️🌴

For the next 2 weeks, Mr & Mrs Little Keepsake Lane are swapping the Melbourne winter for CAIRNS! 🏖️

We’ll be doing our very best tourist impressions, getting some much needed heat into our bones and staying responsibly hydrated with adult beverages. 🍹😂

Which means…

Absolutely NOTHING is being done in the sewing room until I get back. 😂

No cutting.
No sewing.
No quilting.
No “I’ll just quickly do this one thing…”

Caroline's quilt has finally been gifted, so I can share it with you all. 💜

This is officially the biggest memory quilt I have ever made! I nearly ran out of floor space trying to lay it all out. 🤭

It was packed with so many incredible pieces including Deadpool, Beetlejuice, Nightmare Before Christmas, Bluey, Chicago Bulls, and so many other amazing memories stitched together into one giant keepsake.

Every quilt I make is $800, no matter how big or small. (Although "small" doesn't happen very often! 🤭)

The final size always depends on the clothing you send, which makes every quilt completely unique.

Bobby's quilt has finally made it home. 💜

This quilt is extra special because Bobby's mumma is the person who first planted the seed for what would become Little Keepsake Lane. From a simple conversation and an idea, to hundreds of treasured memories stitched into quilts for families across Australia, none of this would exist quite the same way without her.

Creating Bobby's quilt felt a little like coming full circle. Every square tells part of his story, and it has been an absolute privilege to help preserve those precious memories.
