👻🎃 Test knitters wanted! 🎃🐈

There’s been a bit of Halloween mischief at Cow Cat Creations…

👻 The Ghosties got into the slime.
🎃 The Kitties got caught playing in the pumpkin patch.

And now my two new Halloween sock patterns — Little Ghostie Socks and Pumpkin Kitty Socks — are ready for testing!

I’m looking for knitters to test either design or both. You only need to complete one sock per design you’re testing, and you’ll have 3 weeks to complete your test.

Both designs are fi*****ng weight / 4 ply stranded colourwork socks, worked using Magic Loop, and are available in three sizes based on foot circumference.

🧦 Sizes: 20–22 cm, 22–25 cm and 25–28 cm
🪡 Method: Magic Loop
🧶 Yarn: Fi*****ng weight / 4 ply
⏰ Test: 3 weeks — only one sock required per design

You’re very welcome to use yarn from your stash or another dyer. If you’d like to knit the original colourway, selected testers will also receive a special discount on the matching Cow Cat Creations yarn kits.

Applications are open now, and I’ll be selecting testers as they come in so we can get started as soon as possible. I’m hoping to have everyone knitting by the end of this week.

I finished this hood-scarf hybrid last week, and winter's timing couldn't have been better.

I wanted something that would keep both my neck and ears warm on cold mornings without having to juggle a scarf and beanie. So naturally, I knit myself a giant cosy hood instead.

The verdict so far? Very warm. Very comfortable. Highly effective against Ballarat weather.

Sometimes selfish knitting is exactly what you need.💚

The Off Grid Cowl is now available as an individual pattern on Ravelry!

Originally published in Homespun magazine, Off Grid combines texture, lace, and gentle shaping in a relaxing knit that's perfect for cooler days.

Worked flat on the bias and finished with a simple seam, the cowl creates a soft triangular silhouette that drapes comfortably around the neck.

The original sample was knit in La Bella 8ply, and the pattern now also features a second sample in my Aurum DK base in the colourway Garden Gate.
