My work facilitating observational infant playgroups is about sensitively inspiring caregivers to relax, enjoy the time they spend with infants and young toddlers, and trust themselves as their baby’s ‘certain’ leader.
RIE parent infant guidance classes are the cornerstone of the revolutionary mindful early parenting practice that fosters both secure attachment AND independent play.
At the centre of these classes is focused attention on the importance of ‘wants nothing quality time’. This is play is separate from the parent while the parent is present ‘in every sense’.
The learning from the classes encourages the child to depend on her own inner security. And as confidence grows, the parents give themselves permission to focus on what their child is doing, rather than what they aren’t.
Wants nothing Quality Time is what we practice during the first 60 minutes of a RIE class. And I’ll support you every step of the way. The remainder of the time is spent in discussion ( what we observed, what is happening at home).
Magda Ge**er founded the classes in Los Angeles a couple of decades a go. The classes are the ideal way to learn how to foster independent play. They are designed to stay together as a group until the babies reach late toddlerhood (2-3 years).
I hope these classes will enable me to accompany you on your early parenting journey to develop your relationship with your baby. Both parents of the infant are welcome to come along.
