My darling Devil wore Prada and more.
These are buttons, bows, buckles, zips, shoe clips and badges all collected from imported garments acquired after years of rummaging in Op shops by my Mother.
A woman who raised two children without a partner and working two jobs.
Money was not to be wasted but a sense of pride was upheld and for a woman who was a creative in fashion this was her way of being what she wanted to be.
If the garments purchased did not fit or were past there use by date mum would take buttons labels etc and adorn a cheaper garment to give it a touch of class.
She always looked fabulous and how I would have loved to have had her in my darling shop with me. She could have had her own space to showcase belts, scarves shoes and bags. That would have been perfect!!
