Is building a brand from scratch easy? Hell no. But is it seriously fun, seriously challenging, and seriously testing how much four blokes can get done in a group chat? Hell yeah.

Having no experience in product design, we called on the incredible team Freelance Fashion Designer - Manufacturing, Techpacks & Sourcing to bring our visions to life. Golf apparel designed to be worn on AND off the green, with a purpose that goes much deeper than giving you something nice to wear while you look for your ball.

We’re here for the not-so-pros, the underdogs, the dads, the mums, the 9–5ers. The people who need to blow off some steam. The mate who’s had a rough week but hasn’t quite found the words to say it. And the one who sends “Sunday morning?” without realising how much that invitation might mean.

When you’re busy being a parent, a partner, an employee and everything else, doing something purely because you enjoy it can slip a fair way down the list. For Carl, getting out for a round makes room to breathe, have a laugh and come home with a little more to give. Even if he’s coming home with considerably fewer balls.

That’s the part we want more people to experience.

You don’t need an impressive handicap or a swing worth filming to belong here. You can be absolutely ordinary at golf and still get something pretty extraordinary out of it.

If any of that sounds like your kind of thing, stick around. There’s plenty we’re still figuring out, but WHY we’re doing this isn’t one of them. We’ve got that part nailed to a T.

A strong outfit can distract from a weak scorecard.

At least that’s the theory we’re working with.

Because if the golf isn’t going to improve any time soon, we may as well look like we know what we’re doing.

Walk with confidence. Don’t mention the score. Absolutely do not ask where the last ball went.

Problem solved.

If you watched part one, you’re a real one. There are FIVE major takeaways from part two:

1. The boys finally found their balls. Picked them up and called it a day. Sometimes the best shot is knowing when to stop taking them.
2. Thankfully we didn’t call the business She Sells Seashells. Although we’re struggling with “collar”, so we’re hardly out of the woods.
3. The colour of our collars is pretty sick. That sentence took longer to say than the shirts took to design.
4. Dad bods are also pretty sick. A bit of extra room, a bit of extra length. We’ve spent years working on these rigs. About time someone dressed them properly.
5. Bushnell Golf Australia, we know you’re listening. We’re available for sponsorship. Call us, you know you want to.

Two parts of mic’d up footage and that’s probably enough evidence to stop letting us wear microphones. Appreciate you being here while we build this thing. Someone’s got to supervise.

Call us delulu, but we reckon we’re starting to get good at this golf thing?

Maybe it’s the apparel. Maybe it’s the one decent shot we’ve been discussing for the last four holes. Maybe it’s Maybelline.

Or MAYBE we’re just a coupla dads giving golf a red hot crack because even a shocking round is a pretty good few hours with your mates. All it takes is one good shot and suddenly the other 112 were just a warm-up.

Tag a mate who fits all five stages to a tee.

Looking for our first albatross. Could be a while.

We named the brand after one of the rarest shots in golf.

Which, considering the standard of golf being played amongst this group, was ambitious.

But that’s kind of why we liked it.

An albatross is rare. Ridiculously hard to get. Something most golfers will spend their whole lives chasing and may never actually land.

And here we are, doing exactly that.

Building something with our mates, figuring it out as we go and chasing something that feels a little out of reach.

As for an actual albatross?

Yeah… we’ll keep you posted.

We spend a lot of time on golf courses for people who are remarkably average at golf.

Like… a lot.

You’d think starting a golf brand would come with some sort of minimum skill requirement, but thankfully no one checked.

We lose balls. We three-putt. We hit the occasional shot that keeps us coming back and then spend all our time dreaming about it.

But that’s kind of the whole point.

Albatross was never built by professional golfers, for professional golfers. It was built by a bunch of mates who just genuinely love the game, even if the game doesn’t always love us back.

And we reckon there are plenty of golfers out there exactly like us.

Chasing the rare. Mostly finding the rough.
