Calico Cat Co Turns 3!
Today marks three years since Emma and her family took over Calico Cat Co from Marlene and Wayne Webb, who had proudly provided embroidery and printing services to our community for more than 15 years.
Sewing has always been a passion for Emma, and when the opportunity came up to purchase the business, it felt like the perfect fit.
"I always thought I'd end up doing something involving sewing, but I never imagined it would lead me into embroidery, printing and everything else that comes with running Calico Cat Co. When I saw the business come up for sale, it felt like the perfect opportunity to combine my sewing skills with an established local business and make it my own."
Over the past three years we've slowly grown and evolved. We added clothing repairs and alterations, suit hire, dry cleaning and watch battery replacements, while steadily growing our haberdashery, craft and art supply ranges.
With Ash joining the team in 2024, we were able to expand our alterations services to include larger projects such as wedding and debutante dresses. We also welcomed baby Teddy, who has become a familiar little face around the shop.
Beyond the shop walls, we've been fortunate to support many local organisations and events through donations of goods and services, including Connect FM, Good Country Op Shop, Kate Douglas School of Dance, Tatiara Wildebeest Cricket Club, SAPSASA Mountain Biking, the Bordertown Spring Festival and the Mundulla Show.
As we celebrate this milestone, we'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us, recommended us, trusted us with their projects and walked through our doors.
We're excited about what the future holds, with ideas for sewing machine servicing and sewing and craft workshops for both kids and adults.
Here's to the next chapter. â¤
..and if you're in town today, pop in at lunchtime for a birthday sausage sizzle and help us celebrate 3 years of Calico Cat Co!
