Elf is making plans for things he will be able to get up to when we move into our new premises! Yes our rabbit is coming with us - when I bought in during covid, he hung out in the store and never left, so of course he is going to have pride of place in the new building.

This so sums me up at the moment. We have got so much happening behind the scenes at the moment that has been consuming a large amount of time and at the end of the day I am so tired that doing sewing is the last thing I can do. Fingers cross I get to do some sewing later this week, I am really missing it and think I need it for my sanity!

Did you know that we print our own fabrics? Yes we print our patchwork and cotton/linen panels right here in Australia!

Our textile company is Stroud Street Textiles and we are proud to be a family owned and operated Australian business located in the Southern Highlands of NSW.

We take time and care in not only printing our fabrics but also in the design of our fabrics and kits. Did you know we often put in some little gems in the designs…..

A great example of this is our Australian Journal collection. Take some time and really look at the background images. Many of these are advertisements from the 1890s through to the 1910. They are AUSTRALIAN ads, many taken from our local Southern Highland’s papers. You will see advertisements for well known brands such as Anthony Horden’s, Pear Soap, Commonwealth Bank, Uncle Toby’s and more plus a few Southern Highland businesses from long ago. It is these special touches that we take the time to add to our designs that not only make them special but unique but pays homage to our Australian history, heritage and culture.

Going forward we are only going to expand on this and have some beautiful designs in the works that we will be releasing once we are up and running in our brand new purpose build property and with our exciting new printing machinery. So stay tuned as we can’t wait to share the next exciting steps our business is undertaking and the new designs we will be releasing!
