So, where was I? Oh, right—our newborn playfully nicknamed, Snotti Lotti 👶 started her sleep regression, which meant no REM sleep for Mum and Dad. She began waking every 2 hours, and Emma and I struggled to keep her comfortable without waking her to change into warmer clothes.

We noticed her regular baby blanket left her chest exposed, requiring more tucking in and often waking her 😫. We were also worried about SIDS 😨 and ensuring the blanket didn't scrunch around her face. After numerous sleepless nights, I sketched a baby blanket that would solve these issues. I wanted natural materials, a wide enough design to tuck into the cot sides, and a 1 TOG rating.

I sent my design to an international manufacturer, and after 35 days of waiting 📦, our solution arrived 🎉. This wasn’t just our problem—many new parents face the same challenges. That’s when I realised we could help others too. Stay tuned for my next post where I’ll share the prototype that became the foundation of Honeybubs!

👶✨ Hey soon-to-be parents! ✨👶

Wondering how your sleep is going to go from here on out? When we were expecting our little Snotti Lotti (Charlotte is her real name, but snots her game! She's almost 1 now!), we thought we had bedtime routines down pat from reading baby books and watching YouTube videos. 😂

But guess what? There's no one-size-fits-all rule! Emma and I soon realised we had to take each piece of advice with a pinch of salt and stumble our own way through it with our own unique baby. And you will too! Your little one is unique and deserves their own special bedtime routine. 🌙💤

Without even realising it, those early days of trying to solve our bedtime woes were the beginning stages of our little start-up, HoneyBubs. We figured if we were having these bedtime struggles, other parents might be too. 🤔
