Well, the day has finally arrived.
I will be closing the doors of my shop to end the final chapter of The Vintage Drawer

There are still fabulous pieces to look at but more importantly, just pop in and say hello before I start my next chapter.

Here are some questions I have been getting asked regarding the closure of the The Vintage Drawer

WHY ARE YOU CLOSING?
I absolutely love vintage clothing but I don’t wish to be locked into the commitment of shop hours, rent, overheads and a job that is literally 24/7 anymore.
I’ve always said that once I reached my early 60s( I’m now 62), I wanted a less committed lifestyle.
I want to have more balance in my life after over 40 years in retail.

I’m looking forward to enjoying vintage just for myself and shopping for vintage as a customer!
Mostly, I’m also looking forward to more quality time spent with family and loved ones.

WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH YOUR REMAINING STOCK?
I am currently dealing with 38 consignees .
All of the consignment stock will go back to the consignees which will make quite a dent in my overall stock situation.

In regard to my own stock, I have some dealers coming to Braidwood after I close to look at what is leftover.

I have kept some pieces for myself that I will sell online later down the track.

After the invited dealers have had a look, I plan to have a sale in my studio for anything still remaining if there are enough pieces left.

WILL YOU BE REDUCING PIECES FURTHER IN THE REMAINING DAYS OF THE SALE AT THE SHOP?

No, there will be no further discounts.

WILL YOUR SOCIAL PAGES REMAIN ACTIVE?

Yes.
I still want to dabble in vintage clothing in a very small way.
I’m not de-registering the business name and I will still continue to have a small amount of stock available to purchase through Instagram and Facebook.
However, my focus won’t be dedicated to that straight away.

WILL YOU STILL BE BUYING VINTAGE?
Yes, but with great discernment.

WILL YOU STILL TAKE CONSIGNMENT PIECES?
No.

WHAT’S NEXT?
A very well deserved break!
Then I am going back to another passion that I love which I can do from home.
It has nothing to do with vintage clothing and some of you know already. I will let you all know soon enough when the time is right.

ARE YOU SAD?
No. I’m looking forward to the future and can smile at what I’ve accomplished.

Some amazing pieces at 50% off like this incredible late 40s ‘Van Roth’ label New Look silhouette black faille dress.

Size : 10 approximately
Proper vintage length

Bust : 34”-35”
Waist: 28”

CONDITION:
Great
A sturdy faille fabric with no holes or tears.
The only thing of note is that the clack faille is slightly lighter( like a deep charcoal) than the velvet border of skirt) .
There is a bit of fading on the shoulders but nothing of significance and would barely be noticeable.

A classic Dioresque dress.

Yes, that is right.
The Vintage Drawer will be closing its doors at 4pm this Saturday.
This is a genuine sale with most pieces at cost and even below cost.
I will try to post more videos if I get a chance.
Yes, this stunning 60s deep turquoise gown is available.
It’s a size 8-10.

Just 5 trading days to go until The Vintage Drawer closes its shop doors.

JUST 7 TRADING DAYS TO GO!
Last trading day will be Saturday 29th August.

OPEN EVERY DAY 10-4 except TUESDAY 25th AUGUST

AS IS/ SALE RACK now in store with everything on these 2 racks priced to sell.
Most are below cost price.
Some items have little flaws, like a hem needed or a button missing etc.
A lot have nothing wrong but are just purely priced to sell.

The other regular shop clothing and accessories are all 50% off.
Yes, that includes the two beautiful gowns on the mannequins in the video.
It’s going to be crazy busy as it’s been this week so far.

Thank you for all of your enquires about the sale items in the closing sale.

As you can imagine, it has been extremely busy in the shop with the sale.
If I haven’t gotten back to you yet, that is why and I apologise for that.
In order to make it easier for you and me, can I please request that:

Any questions you have are sent to me by DM or by text message ONLY.
My number is 0417140364. You can also call me directly for a much quicker response. I can always call you back if I’m busy.
Please do not ask questions in the comments of a post as I will not see them quickly.
Send me a pic of what you are asking about if applicable.

As sizing is complicated and there are different versions of what that means, please provide me with bust, waist and hip measurements in INCHES for me to help you more quickly.

Any general questions regarding bulk lots or ‘ do you have any formal dresses in a size 10?’ (for example) , please contact me after I close to see what I have left.
As much as I’d love to help you, I simply do not have time to facilitate this request if you’re not able to come to the shop.
I will do my best though.
