“Genuine leather” sounds reassuring. The frustrating part? It doesn’t tell you much about the quality.
Some genuine leather belts use split leather from lower in the hide, with a PU coating added to create a smooth finish. As that coating breaks down, the belt can begin to crack and peel.
For the belts we make in our Brisbane workshop, we take a different approach. Each strap is cut from a single piece of leather hide.
No layers. No PU coatings. Just leather, cut and finished by us.
Have you ever owned a “leather” belt that started peeling?
