Kia ora whānau,

I’ve taken some time to reflect on where my energy and purpose sit now, and I’m ready to share this update.

Māpihi & Co. was created from my passion to uplift the identity of our whānau, helping our tamariki see themselves, their whakapapa and their culture with pride. It has always been about connection, representation and strengthening who we are.

Over the past year and a half, I have been focused on my cancer recovery and adjusting to life at a different pace. My health remains stable, and I’m moving gently and intentionally. Thank you to everyone who showed patience, understanding and aroha during this time, it has meant more than I can express.

These days, my heart and time are with my whānau, our tamariki in kapahaka, Māori rugby league, and some wellbeing mahi I’ve been doing. That is where I feel grounded, useful and aligned.

With that, I’m closing the chapter of Māpihi & Co, not as an ending, but as part of my evolution. Thank you, truly, for walking this kaupapa with me.

These days, my heart and time are with my whānau, our tamariki in kapahaka, Māori rugby league, and the wellbeing mahi I’ve been doing with The Family of League Foundation. That is where I feel grounded, useful and aligned.

With that, I’m closing the chapter of Māpihi & Co, not as an ending, but as part of my evolution. Thank you, truly, for walking this kaupapa with me.

❤️ Today, and every day is a tribute to the endurance and resilience of our Māori people and our Māori culture. We did survive and will continue to thrive! 🔥

🤍 A time to wānanga and aknowledge our history, whakapapa and whānau legacies - those from the past, in the present now and what it looks like for our future generations.

🖤 Today I celebrate all the beautiful things about our country Aotearoa, ahakoa ngā piki me ngā heke and the importance of uniting our cultural diversity.

Māpihi & Co. acknowledges that today, January 26th is a day to stand in solidarity with our Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Communities. Today represents a day of mourning and the day of invasion for Australia’s First Nations peoples 😔

We consider Australia our ‘Home away from Home’ and we will continue to support Aboriginal rights for equality, change and steps to Closing the Gap.

Thank you for sharing Aboriginal & TSI culture and history with us and allowing us the opportunity to live and work on these sacred lands.

No matter where you stand, you’re on Aboriginal land! Always was and Always will be! ✊🏽

Kia ora e te whānau! I’m sharing a piece of my journey that I never expected to embark upon! I’ve recently been diagnosed with a rare form of Brain Cancer!! 🧠 This diagnosis is just a detour in my journey! I’m determined to shape my own mana wahine narrative with resilience and positivity because, ētta beiii…I got this!!! 💪🏽

Your support means the world to me and my whānau during this challenging time. While our business is temporarily on hold, the spirit to fight remains strong. Māmā made a promise to always: Keep Onn, Keeping Onn!! 💯✊🏽

Just a quick update: Our website is temporarily closed and I’m taking a break. Life threw me a health curveball, so I’m currently navagating a detour in my journey due to medical reasons. The exact timeline is a bit up in the air, but rest assured, this Māmā will be back on her feet and ready to roll when the time is right! 💚🌿
