Today marks 3 years since I got my first sewing machine for my 11th birthday. It amazes me how much I’ve learnt - I’ve gone from barely being able to sew a straight line, taking hours to simply make one bag to making teddy bears and zippered bags. Thank you to everyone who’s supported me on this journey 💕

Special thanks to my Mum, Benay Nagaushi, who is always beside me when I need help and to my Grandma who bought me and taught me how to use my sewing machine 💕

I just finished the blanket I have been working on for my Mum. It took me 3 and a half days just to finish the first side but I really committed to it today and got it all - the second side and putting it together - done after 7 hours of sewing 😭. Like, I love to sew but at the moment I really don’t want to see another sewing machine again. But I’m so glad it’s done and I really hope my Mum likes it!

My latest sewing creation!

My Mum works as a teacher aid and so I decided to make her a work bag for her to use when she goes back. I added 2 big pockets, one for a coffee mug and another for her lunch. I also added a button pocket for her snacks and a keychain so she doesn’t lose her keys. This came to me in a day dream sort of thing when I was trying to sleep and when I woke up the next morning I planned it out and started working on it. It turned out exactly as I hoped and I’m so glad she likes it!

I made this bag today as a late Christmas gift for a friend 💕

I attached a magnet to make sure it closes and although the bag is smaller than the regular tote bags I make, it’s a perfect size for just a wallet and phone!

This is my last creation of 2023 and I can’t wait to see what 2024 brings!

I forgot to post these so here they are!

The bag is for my GG (Greg Baker) as a shower bag for camping! I was allowed to choose the material and I fell in love with this one - it is food after all!

The book pillows are for my brothers’ teachers as thank you presents! My brothers chose the material for their teacher but we included the colour changing sequins on all 3. I also attached a keyring to the handle which were all different but said something along the lines of “You’re the best teacher, thanks for helping me learn”. They turned out super cool and I love them all!

One of my teachers is leaving due to having a baby so I decided to make her and her baby something! So, I used a pattern that I have used before (the small teddy on the 3rd photo) but enlarged it and used stretchy material instead. It turned out super cute and I hope my teacher likes it 🙂

I know I said I wouldn't post anymore, but I'm really proud of this blanket I made so I really wanted to share it!

It took awhile, I had to cut out 100 little squares and sew them all together one by one which took FOREVER. I also had just finished sewing the entire blanket when I realised that one of the pieces on the back was inside out so I had to unpick all the stitches (except the ones that held the front together thank god).

But yeah, I'm really proud of it and I think it looks good 😊

Sorry for the bad photos, I had to take them on the floor of my room and because it's big and I am unfortunately very short, I struggled to get the blanket in the frame so sorry!
