Not only did this place provide some of Brisbane's finest hand-picked and locally sourced vintage clothing, accessories and furniture (ranging from the 1950s to the early 1980s), but this humble little place was also the home to

some very special funk-filled events, with live music, food trucks, and plenty of good vibes being shared by all. Unfortunately, like every fairy tale, there’s either a big bad wolf or a nasty witch standing in the wings. In this case there was both and neither of them was happy with the creation of such a wonderful, fun space for the community; so, it was time for to pack up and move on ...

Fortunately, lo and behold, there awaited for the most magical place of all—George Hillyard’s Shop House. Built in the mid-1860s, this rare and gorgeous building was once the premises for George and his family’s successful jewellery and watchmaking business. With a little hard work, sweat, and not too many tears, the old shop was transformed from its bad 90’s makeover to reveal the beauty within (including the stunning brickwork surrounds). Now Mr Hillyard’s shop can smile again... and so can we all... come enjoy some of the best live music, very clothing and vinyl DJs the city had to offer all inside a safe, all inclusive community space.
