Studio Ashmeeta is for kindred folk who want to be seen and heard. Your confidence can start from a quiet mantra of beaded words or from little token of bright and bold scrunchie, headband or brooch.

A place where you can rediscover your creativity and style. Start your journey with my collection of ready to go handmade accessories designed and made with my Arstian fabrics or create your own magic with my pre order fabrics from Cloth Cuts .

A community for self expression, love and stories.

I believe in communities over clubs. I used to believe I didn't belong anywhere because I never fit neatly into one box. Have you ever felt like that? Well good news.
You can belong into more than one community because you aren't defined by one thing.

Fluttering between groups is your strength. We are multitudes and we thrive in diverse environments. When you need a gentle and joyful place to land, you are welcome here.

You'll surly find me at community events like this one at LEAF festival for The Sewing Lair, hosting small crafting workshops Kirsten | crafternoons in Brisbane and occasionally at event markets. Just look out for my bobbing head in a bright big Bow Headband!

Daughters of the Wilds... What are you fighting for?

I fight for autonomy and visibility through my expressive art fabric prints.

This full-circle skirt isn't just something made to wear. It's a declaration. A celebration of taking up space, being seen and telling my own story.

Remember: our bodies, our voices, our rights, our choices.

As the daughter of a tailoring family, sewing was once a means of survival. Today, I honour that legacy differently. I draw to make sense of the world, I sew my own art for joy and I dress as an act of self-expression.

'Daughters of the Wilds' is for anyone learning to trust their instincts, embrace their individuality, and step beyond the expectations placed upon them.

💕Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai? 💕

Not a secret, but a story.

For the LEAF (Logan Eco Action Festival) runway hosted by the , I created a garment that reconnects me with my Indian heritage through the lens of creative reuse.

This piece began as a discarded toran (bandhanwar) —a decorative Indian door hanging traditionally used to welcome guests and invite blessings into a home on auspicious ocassions.

Rather than letting it sit unused, I transformed it into a vest, carrying its mirror work, elephant embroidery, and symbolism into a new life.

I then personalised it with fabric scraps from my Marigold Collection & Rani of Hearts and a handmade beaded brooch, blending inherited traditions with my own creative practice.

What was once a decoration for a doorway has become a wearable reminder that heritage isn't static. It evolves with us, travels with us and becomes part of who we are.

✨ This Indian textile is part of my heart now.

A closer look at the textures, stitches, and treasures finding a new life in my latest upcycled creation for the LEAF (Logan Eco Action Festival) runway, hosted by the Sewing Lair on Sunday June 7th.

🐘 Reclaimed heritage textiles, mirror work, elephant embroidery, Marigold Collection fabric scraps, and sewing essentials sourced from the Sewing Lair are all becoming part of the story.
