Well you may wonder why I say Congratulations and Thank you all in one post. A bit long of a post but I just want to say congratulations to all the Mums and Dads out there who have done their very best to prepare their little one for the first day of school, or here for us in Queensland they started school on Monday last week. Many a tearful moment for many of you I am sure of. It does indeed get better. My second grandson told his mum this morning – just a hug and drop off!!! At the end of his very first week! Oh, Mr Independent Maverick. Obviously his teacher has also done wonders in just a few days. My mum always made me laugh as apparently after my first day of school I cried because I had to go home!!! I also recall my daughters first days at school, they were just fine – me, I cried all the way home or to work. I also say Thank You to all the incredible teachers out there – you are amazing. Especially in Early Childhood and Primary as you set the pace for ongoing learning and lifetime skills. My middle daughter, after a very successful career in safety has decided to become a teacher after the input she received into her life of the most amazing Grade 5 and 6 with the same teacher. A lasting impact indeed but in the first week this teacher always did a talk for parents/carers - parents and teachers working together. “I have your child for just 6 hours per day, but working together mums and dads we can achieve so much more” Such an important message to us all. NB: Always work with your little ones teaches as they are just amazing. We would love to hear of your experiences.
