Incoming Announcement from Norm - Fats Comics Owner 📣
Hey, Fats Comics Fans!
I’ve had an incredible time in the comic industry, running this hobby business of mine. Many of you know my primary gig is in IT. After all, what IT guy doesn’t dream of owning a comic shop, right? That’s been my catchphrase for years!
July is a milestone month for Fats Comics, marking a decade of ownership under my belt. 🎉
Recently, my steadfast partner in crime, Karen, embarked on her next adventure, leaving me to dive deep into what it takes to keep the store running. The good news? Our online business is thriving, expertly managed by my great friend and comic specialist, Dion.
After much consideration, I’ve made an extremely difficult decision: It’s time for me to RETIRE from owning a brick-and-mortar store.
I’ll be stepping into the background, focusing on purchasing, lounging about, and, of course, making a general nuisance of myself. Not much change for me, but it’s a big change for Fats Comics.
Grant Adey, Tony Steele, Jay Johnson, Young James, Dale, Scotty, and too many others to mention! Thank you!
You’ll still catch me haunting other comic stores, attending conventions, and popping up in the occasional online video.
I’ve met so many amazing people in this industry. Many of you are dear friends, and I cherish every memory. I’ll always be around for a chat and a good haggle. Our amazing books will gradually be available on eBay and other social platforms, so keep an eye out. Feel free to contact me directly if you ever need anything.
Stay tuned here for updates on our closing timeline (estimated 6 weeks-ish) and any fun events before we close. I’ll be in the store on Saturdays (except July 6), so drop by and say hi if you’re in the neighborhood.
As I write this, I realize how much this store and all of you mean to me.
