Kay Collections brings together weaves, crafts, textures and craftsmanship to make an Indian saree a pure work of art. Drawing from some of the most modern yet traditional designs, Kay Collections brings to Australia and New Zealand, the energy and creativity of some of the finest master weavers and embroiderers from across India; from Bengal to Gujarat and Kashmir to Kanyakumari. A mélange of the rich Indian heritage and the diversity of international influences.

There is a special feel of the hand woven saree to the body; the way they sit, flow and carry you, for a particular function or throughout the day!

Do visit. The Offbeat Sari exhibition is now showing at Bunjil Place, Narre Warren, Victoria until August 30, followed by Liverpool Powerhouse, NSW, from 7 Nov to 4 April 2027.

For many South Asians, museums in the West have historically been places where their cultures were displayed as static artefacts. An exhibition like The Offbeat Sari has flipped that script, presenting South Asian creativity as innovative and globally influential.
