1870 ~ 2022
Landscape painting by Samuel Elyard of Bennelong Point and Fort Macquarie that stood upon it. Also featuring the stone quarry that is now known as the Tarpeian Way at the edge of the Botanic Gardens.
Today the Sydney Opera House stands on the former site of the old fort at the end of Macquarie Street.
