Vintage 40’s J&G Meakin Rosa.. this practically unused set of PINK vintage china just happened into my possession .. the Fae just dropped it off..🧚‍♀️but because I really do have a crazy amount of vintage china which I use every day.. the pastels are my favourite.. 🥰I am going to sell off this rare set. I’m thinking a 6 piece setting for $100 plus postage if you don’t live locally.. no chips, no cracks and in almost pristine condition. Probably a wedding present that was never used.. so sad!! Use your beautiful china..

I’ve had this lovely Buttercup yellow Australian-made 1950’s Sunbeam Mixmaster for about 30 years, and today I passed it on to my granddaughter.. how lovely to find this new generation of women venerating treasures from previous generations of women.. I remember my mother had one in the 50’s and the smell of my machine is the exact same smell I grew up with..I went straight back to my mother’s kitchen..🍰. And the cookbook ( another Australian delight) is a definite must-have special treat.. 52 weeks of cakes.. I’m in!!

Today is ANZAC Day here in Australia.. a special day when we remember all those who have served this country. And this year, the focus is on the vital contributions of the women. Both in service and at home. With that thought in mind, I thought it would be both informative and delicious for the ladies out there to make a batch of ANZAC biscuits with the kids, and in so doing, explain their significance to those helping out. ANZAC biscuits were probably the only biscuit that survived the long journey from Australia, via ship, to their menfolk fighting abroad. Containing no eggs, and baked to within an inch of their lives, they were hard and durable. Just imagine the joy of receiving a tin of biscuits made by your mother.. knowing she had crafted them with her own hands. Treasure for sure.. so tell this story to your kids and then let them enjoy your home-baked biscuits as we all reflect on the contribution of women everywhere.🥰👵🏻
