Katherine's lively gown which needed taking up, three layers in all, outer lining and inner tulle, and I also repaired the waist seam, tie ends and did a little bullion rose to mark the centre of the back tie.

Kate's lovely unique lace wedding gown, which was altered to remove the bottom tier of the skirt to remove the train, and hems were taken up on the inside layers to match. I had to do a bit of fine rolled hemming in an off white cotton to finish it off.

On the top being a slight Petit woman I took in the bodice by overlapping the neck opening, and preventing the back opening gaping by making a little strap in this fine vintage satin bias tape I found at 'The Nest Haberdashery' in at Brendale.

I made sure the waist button section had hooks n eyes to hold it securely, and also reshaped the hem offcut to have a point, and ease stitch the inside neck edge to pull it in so the offcut could be worn as a shawl. Also trimming and finishing off the little lining offcut so she could tie it round her hair.

I love the variety in my work, no two dresses are exactly the same.

This lovely gown of Kiera's required a very steady careful hand to take up, as I had to carefully cut through the lace where I pinned it while keeping it looking natural and intentional.

Under the lave was a soft tulle that was also cut just short of the edge nice and straight around the curved hem and two layers of lining hems to sew.

I also replaced the hanging loops with matching natural white instead of the ones with black lettering, and marked the middle of the back lacing tie to assist with keeping the ties even.

This was for a lovely wedding at the end of Summer this year.

We hemmed it and added a back lace up panel. She also has a strapless bra for support, which is very important with getting the best fit with a lot of wedding dresses.

Darcy's lovely wedding gown for her Summer wedding.

A lovely floral chiffon which I took up enough to have fabric wide enough to cover the back modesty panel I made for the lace up back panel.

There were 5 layers all together, two outer, and two tulle puffy layers on the internal lining.

It was a real challenge getting the hem level in this fabric, Jamie and I spent ages on it, but it's so beautiful and different it was totally worth the effort. I do so love floral.

The modesty panel had the full nearly no gap lace up back with the scalloped lacing edge loops, with added boning along the lacing to prevent warping, the loops and lacing strap made in thick delustered satin in natural white, around 4m long.

The rouleau loops have to be cut on the cross grain, so they can stretch to turn, but the lacing strap has to be cut on the straight along the edge of the fabric, so it doesn't warp when pulled tight, which I usually get 2m of so its around 4m long, its always better to be too long than too short.

The back lace up panel is interlined with thick fusing, and boning around the above waist section to keep it flat and smooth inside behind the lacing. I added an outer layer of the floral chiffon so it matched the dress.
