G’day everyone I’m Pitt.

I grew up in cairns, i am 53. I went traveling in 1996, and I explored 50+ countries in 26 years and returned to cairns 8 months ago.

Oh wow how cairns has changed.

I started a little market stall when I returned selling Thai Fishermen Pants and Mexican Hammocks, but without a vehicle I was stuck at Rusty’s market and recently stopped, the freight cost was too high.

I’ve been renting a single room in a hostel for the last 8 months and it’s been convenient, but after another rent increase it’s too much.

I now have a full time job with a large hotel in Cairns and am hoping to find a nice place to live. I don’t drink, I work the graveyard shift at the hotel, so I sleep mornings and relax in the hammock in the afternoons and write.

It’s strange coming back to your hometown after so long away and not knowing anyone.

I hope there’s someone nice out there who, if you have a spare room and are interested in finding a person who you enjoy your morning coffee with, who’s conversation level is beyond what happened at happy hour at the bar. Who can pay rent on time, do dishes and understand that his mother doesn’t live there and the housekeeping is a shared role.

I’m relying on public transportation or walking and won’t need a parking space.

Another market week is finished. That doesn’t mean the shop is closed. I have a space on the esplanade with an area with my hammocks displayed and you are welcome to come and swing in a hammock, see and test the full range of luxury hammocks in your own time. Try one for a minute and you will understand, chill in one for an hour by the pool here and you will be a convert. Message me for an appointment to chill.

A lady came to my stall at 7am a few weeks ago and was staring at a hammock I was displaying. She looked sad. I went and spoke with her and was told………I ordered almost the exact hammock online just before she left home 10 minutes ago. She was a little sad she now had to wait for a few days to get her new hammock. She had one for years that was broken recently and couldn’t be fixed. We had a lovely chat. Her hammock arrives and her boyfriend breaks it first time in, with shoes or a button or something that caught in the string. I found it was bought from my supplier. Today I brought it home with me to have a play. Can you find the repair? No charge for customers
