LATRODECTUS HASSELTII~RED BACK SPIDER
Australia’s notoriously Deadly tiny icon,, although they are normally non aggressive unless provoked ,,often confused with the Black widow these guys have their markings on top of their abdomen not underneath,, ranging in red&orange colourations. Solitary insectivore hunters , dwellers of dark dry places who only have to deal with each other during mating.the females are bigger&more venomous, deadly ☠️dangerous to humans , can store s***m for up to 2 years & hatch numerous spiderling batches ,,they eat the males after mating or when trapped, but redback spiderlings eat each other as well.
Most male redbacks never find a mate , are smaller in size& are not dangerous to humans.
They are not above stealing food from the webs of other spiders. The females construct intricate webs that fill the space around them,,This makes the web look messy, but are actually perfectly strategic death traps aimed at catching&pulling up any prey caught in at the bottom lines.
Males do not build webs but roam free to hunt.
The female is meticulous, strategic, organised, independent & DEADLY🕷❤️
