Mockingbird Lane ABOUT US Mockingbird Lane is situated in the beautiful National Trust listed village of Central Tilba on the far south coast of N.S.W.

approximately 5 hours drive south of Sydney & 3 hours from Canberra. Nestled on the slopes of Mt Dromedary, or "Gulaga" a sacred mountain for the Yuin tribe of Aboriginals who are the traditional owners of this region. Mockingbird Lane had its genesis in 1997 by the husband & wife team of Greg & Peita Wall, who decided to move to Central Tilba for a sea change after trading for several years as an

tiques dealers in the Hawkesbury district of Sydney. We like to source as much of our stock as possible locally, scouring the countryside for clearance sales, auctions & buying privately, often turning up wonderful gems in out of the way places, such as rustic furniture, nautical items, vintage tools etc. Sometimes these treasures are in good original condition, ready to go "straight on the floor" for sale, other times they will require various degrees of restoration which is carried out by the skilled hands of Greg in his workshop. Our policy here is to carry out sympathetic restorations so that the objects retain as much of their original patination, bumps, scratches etc. as possible so that they look like they've been well looked after & much loved during their lifetimes rather than looking as they did when they were first made. We stock an interesting array of objects including Australian colonial furniture in Pine, Australian Red Cedar, QLD Maple, Blackwood, Huon Pine etc as well as 20th Century pieces up to the 1970's. We also sell antique & vintage glass incl. Art Glass, ceramics, metalware, antique to contemporary jewellery, art works incl. local artists, object d' art, fossils, curios, must haves & fun things. We are open 7 days a week during the warmer months of the year incl. Public holidays from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm & we close 1 day a week during the quieter times through the winter months. Apart from Antiques & vintage collectables we are stockists of Melbourne based contemporary jewellery makers "ELK" as well as Sydney based "GLASSHOUSE FRAGRANCES" and the German manufactured "Redecker" brand of hand crafted brushes etc. and Swedish Dream Sea Salt Soap.

The end of an era; after trading for almost 22 years from number 12 Bate street Central Tilba, Mockingbird Lane has finally closed its doors for the very last time and the property is being returned to a residential one for the first time since the 1980’s.
A huge thank you to all the customers we’ve had over the years who have made it sush a joyous endeavour; without you, it wouldn’t have been possible.

After 26 years of trading; both here in Tilba as well Sydney & Mittagong in the Southern Highlands, the time has finally come; we’ve sold the property, now it’s time to sell all the stock and enjoy a well deserved retirement.

It has a small wooden tray inside for screwdrivers, chisels etc. This has some water staining from age but is in excellent condition & will clean up quickly & easily.
