It's on again this year!! Are you a breast cancer survivor looking for an amazing relaxing experience fully catered and free? Fly-fishing has been shown to improve the range of movement for people recovering from breast cancer treatment. The fly-fisher men and women volunteer their time and expertise, the food is first class, the staff of the hatchery at Ebor ensure all feel welcome and leave not only with fond memories but perhaps a trout or two.

thank you to everyone who encouraged me and sponsored me during the month of June while I participated in the Big Bold Walk. Together we have contributed to this amazing fundraising total!

Now that fundraising pages have officially closed for The Big Bold Walk, we are thrilled to announce that thanks to thousands of supporters nationwide, $1,485,359 has been raised for life-saving breast cancer clinical trials research.

Every breast cancer treatment available today has been through a clinical trial. These trials are essential for finding more effective treatments, improving quality of life, reducing side effects, and providing more treatment options for people affected by breast cancer.

The funds raised through The Big Bold Walk will help Breast Cancer Trials continue this vital work, turning promising research into treatments that save and extend lives, answer critical questions faster, and bring new treatment options to those who need them most.

Thank you to everyone who supported The Big Bold Walk. Together, you're helping make more clinical trials possible and bringing us closer to a world where NO MORE lives are cut short by breast cancer.

A significant step forward for women who rely on monthly ovarian suppression treatment. 💗

Following months of uncertainty after the decision to remove Zoladex 3.6mg from the PBS on 1 November, PBAC has now recommended triptorelin (Diphereline) 3.75mg for PBS listing for breast cancer.

For women and their treating teams, this brings us one step closer to a sustainable, subsidised monthly treatment option. It is also a powerful example of what can happen when women’s experiences are heard directly in decision-making.

Women told us about the anxiety, treatment uncertainty and difficult decisions they were facing. Clinicians advocated strongly for their patients. Government recognised the urgency, PBAC prioritised consideration of an alternative, and a replacement pathway has now been identified.

We are not there yet.

The next step is to secure PBS listing, reimbursement and supply arrangements before 1 November, alongside clear information for women and clinicians about what is changing and what they can access.

BCNA will keep working with government, clinicians and industry until that pathway is confirmed.

For those of you who attended the screening of 'Conquering Breast Cancer' an inspiring and informative documentary this afternoon I am sure you would agree that it was definitely worthwhile. The women and men sharing their stories and experiences, the latest research, the myriad of ways we are now able to seek information were presented in a respectful and positive light. I was one of the hundreds of women who attended the first meeting in Canberra in 1998 to establish, Breast Cancer Network Australia, a grassroots organisation providing resources, information and advocate for change to improve the journey of women and men diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia. Thank you to the producers, the many contributors - health professionals and consumers along with representations from numerous organisations including National Breast Cancer Foundation, Breast Cancer Network Australia. Thank you to our own local Breast Cancer Buddies support group, this year celebrating their 30th anniversary, who assisted in organising the screening of this documentary
